Strong Geomagnetic Storm Fairbanks Alaska

A strong geomagnetic storm followed the impact of a powerful coronal mass ejection on March 31, 2001.
This colorful display of the Northern Lights was captured from Fairbanks, Alaska during the most intense
period of the geomagnetic disturbance. The planets Jupiter and Saturn are aligned with Aldebaran in
Taurus and the Pleiades star cluster.
